Dr. Henry C. Fung, Diplomate, American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Henry C. Fung is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with advanced training and extensive experience in the field of dental implants, bone regeneration, facial reconstruction, oral pathology, tumor surgery and facial trauma surgery.
He graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry and received his DDS degree with honors in 1983, where he also completed a one-year fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine.
He received his certificate in advanced training at Cook County Hospital in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1987where he gained his broad surgical experience. His Specialty training was performed at Cook County Hospital, Northwestern University Hospital, University of Illinois hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Long hospital and Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Fung has been practicing the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 1987 and in addition to his private practice in Oak Park, he has been teaching the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Cook County Hospital for 27 years, with emphasis in Dental Implant Surgery, Orthognathic Surgery, Facial Trauma Surgery. Dr. Fung has been appointed as the Chairman and Program Director of the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program in 2012. He is a Certified Instructor in Advanced Cardiac life support for 30 years. He lectures to his peers at the local, state, national, and international levels on topics related to Oral Surgery and teaching Anesthesia Emergency Simulation course. He is licensed in the States of Illinois and California.
He has surgical privileges at MacNeal Hospital, Oak Park Hospital and John Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Dr. Fung is a member of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Illinois Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Chicago Dental Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association and the Chicago Dental Society.
He enjoys golfing, biking, hiking, table tennis, swimming, playing guitar, reading and traveling.
Dr. Alejandro Valladares
Dr. Alejandro Valladares is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. He received his dental degree from the University of Honduras, Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Soon after obtaining his dental degree, he continued his dental education completing 2 years in general practice residencies in dentistry in Waterbury. CT and Charlotte. NC, where he was exposed to medically compromised dental patients and emphasis in oral medicine.
He pursued oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Puerto Rico, where he received extensive training including general anesthesia rotation, internal medicine and general surgery rotation in addition to the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Valladares performs a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgeries/procedures such as complex dental extractions, wisdom teeth extractions, outpatient IV general anesthesia, dental implants and bone regeneration techniques.
Dr. Valladares is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, in his spare time he enjoys traveling, sports, casual eating, music and spending time with family.
