Dr. Henry C. Fung, D.D.S.  

Diplomate, American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

 

Dr. Henry C. Fung is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with advanced training and extensive experience in the field of dental implants, bone regeneration, facial reconstruction, oral pathology,  tumor surgery and facial trauma surgery.
 
He graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry and received his DDS degree with honors in 1983, where he also completed a one year fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine.
 
He received his certificate in advanced training at Cook County Hospital in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1987 where he gained his broad surgical experience. His Specialty training was performed at Cook County Hospital, Northwestern University Hospital, University of Illinois hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Long hospital and Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
Dr. Fung has been practicing the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 1987 and in addition to his private practice in Oak Park, he has been teaching the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Cook County Hospital for 24 years, with emphasis in Dental Impant Surgery, Orthognathic Surgery, Facial Trauma Surgery. He is a Certified Instructor in Advanced Cardiac life support for 27 years. He lectures to his peers at the local, state, national, and international levels on topics related to Oral Surgery. He is licensed in the States of Illinois and California.
 
He has surgical privileges at MacNeal Hospital, Oak Park Hospital and John Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Dr. Fung is a member of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Illinois Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Chicago Dental Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association and the Chicago Dental Society.
 
Dr. Fung's passions ( besides Oral Surgery ) are his wife Tina and their two wonderful children, Stephanie & Katharina. Stephanie currently is practicing dentistry in Sunnyvalle California as an assoicates after graduating from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry, and Katharina graduated at Tufts University in Boston and is applying to Dental school this year.
He enjoys golfing, biking, hiking, table tennis, swimming, playing guitar, reading and traveling.
